Infinity Ward is taking a pretty hard turn with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, and you can feel it right away. The game is set for October 23, 2026, on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2, with no PS4 or Xbox One version this time. That alone changes the mood around it. Players are already talking about bigger maps, cleaner fights, and how progression might feel without old hardware holding things back, which is why services like MW4 Boosting are likely to sit close to the wider launch conversation. PC players get Battle.net, Steam, and Xbox on PC, while Switch 2 gets a native version rather than a quick cloud workaround.

The campaign's centrepiece is a renewed war on the Korean Peninsula. North Korea launches a full-scale invasion, and the story doesn't just follow elite operators sweeping in from the shadows. A big part of it puts players in the boots of Private Park, a young South Korean soldier caught in the first wave of chaos. That's a different kind of Call of Duty pressure. It's not all night vision and secret raids. It's patrols turning into panic, cities falling apart, trenches, counterattacks, and ordinary soldiers trying not to break. Captain Price is still here too, but he's not being sold as the clean hero. He's outside the system now, hunting a weapon that could tip the war, and Ghost clearly isn't thrilled about how far Price is willing to go.

The Korean setting is going to be talked about a lot, and not just because it looks dramatic in a trailer. The Korean War never ended with a peace treaty, only an armistice, so turning a renewed invasion into a blockbuster shooter is bound to raise eyebrows. Some Korean players seem pleased that Republic of Korea soldiers aren't just background characters this time. Others will want to see whether the language, uniforms, military culture, and civilian impact are handled with care. Infinity Ward says it has focused on authenticity and regional detail, but there's still no clear public breakdown of consultants, historical review, or localisation standards. That gap matters, especially for a story this close to real tension.

Multiplayer sounds less like a gimmick factory and more like a reset of the basics. The big phrase is Ballistic Authority, a weapon-first system that ties aiming, recoil, stance, camera feel, sound, visibility, and bullet behaviour together. The headline change is simple: no bloom. Hipfire should land where the weapon is actually pointing, not where a hidden dice roll decides. That'll be music to some players' ears. Movement is also being widened with mantling, climbing, hanging, and jumping, but Infinity Ward is still framing it as grounded. Launch includes 12 new 6v6 core maps, dedicated Gunfight maps, and Big War spaces for vehicles and infantry. Kill Block sounds like the oddball standout, with a training facility that reshuffles routes and cover between rounds.

Create-a-Class is being cleaned up into one loadout screen that covers Operators, weapons, equipment, and streaks. Gunsmith returns, but shared class attachments should cut down the grind a bit. Gunny can build a practical setup for close, mid, or long range, then you can tweak it yourself. Apex Attachments add another hook by changing a fully levelled weapon's role. DMZ is back too, with solo or squad deployments, shifting weather, hostile forces, tech recovery, betrayal, and extraction drama. Warzone joins the cycle in Season 1, while PS4 and Xbox One support ends there. For players planning early progression, loadout testing, or ranked-style prep, MW4 Boosting for sale may become part of the wider discussion as the launch window gets closer.
